Radiotherapy

  • In patients with metastasis especially bone, radiation offers pain relief and may be used as palliative therapy.
  • The cancer is already spread to other organs and thus radiotherapy alone is not very effective in down staging or preventing further spread of the cancerous cells.
  • External beam radiotherapy may slow the progression but does not offer benefits in terms of survival time.
