Chemoradiotherapy

• Chemoradiotherapy has been reported to be more beneficial than either radiation or chemotherapy alone in advanced pancreatic cancer.
• Trials with 5-FU chemoradiotherapy have reported survival and palliative benefits.
• Gemcitabine based radiotherapy is not popular because of the high toxicity and no additional benefits as compared to the 5- FU based radiotherapy treatment.
• In patients with metastasis, the role of chemoradiotherapy is not very clear.
